Consonant Cluster Tongue Twisters
These tongue twisters attack consonant clusters: two or three consonants pronounced back to back with no vowel in between, as in "twelve twins twirled". Clusters are where most learners insert extra vowels, and drilling them removes that habit.
Practice Tips
- Never insert a vowel inside a cluster: "black" is one syllable, not "buh-lack".
- Build the cluster slowly: first b, then l, then bl, then the whole word.
- Keep your jaw relaxed; clusters are about tongue timing, not force.
