Englisch hat zwei TH-Laute. Thin /θɪn/ ist stimmlos. This /ðɪs/ ist stimmhaft. Gleiche Buchstaben, unterschiedliche Klänge. Wie weiß man, welcher zu nehmen ist? Es gibt eine Regel, die fast immer funktioniert.
Die zwei TH-Laute
- /θ/ - stimmlos: nur Luft. thin, think, math, three.
- /ð/ - stimmhaft: Kehle vibriert. this, that, mother, breathe.
